Environmental Chemistry
Chemical analysis has long been an integral component of complete water quality assessments. At GLEC we have the experienced staff, the equipment, and the resources necessary to conduct environmental chemistry evaluations, either in support of other programs or as stand-alone projects. GLEC is experienced in conducting integrated surveys in large and small water bodies involving the collection and chemical analysis of water and effluent samples, biological tissues, and sediment samples for both organic and inorganic constituents. Our staff has the depth and breadth of experience in aquatic and terrestrial environmental sciences (chemistry, ecology, biology and toxicology) to effectively interpret results and apply an integrated approach to problem solving.
The GLEC chemistry laboratory incudes the following analytical equipment: Gas Chromatograph / Mass Spectral Detector (GC/MS), Gas Chromatograph / Electron Capture Detector (GC/ECD), High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Gel Permeation Chromatograph (GPC), Technicon Autoanalyzer, Spectrophotometer, Fluorimeter, and various meters with ion-slective electrodes.
GLEC has developed a significant number of technical and data handling strengths in environmental chemistry including:
GLEC has performed intensive field and laboratory investigations involving environmental chemistry throughout the United States. We take pride in our innovative approaches for evaluating and recommending solutions to complex environmental problems. GLEC's diverse experience in the environmental arena allows us to be both timely in reporting, and cost effective in our services. Contact Robin Silva-Wilkinson for more information. |
