Sediment Quality Assessments
Sediment quality assessments are useful in determining sediment quality in receiving streams of whole effluents, previously impacted sites, and other contaminated areas. At GLEC we have the experienced staff, the equipment, and the resources necessary to conduct integrated sediment quality assessments by effectively evaluating benthic community structure, tissue and sediment chemistry, and sediment toxicity. GLEC is capable of, and experienced in conducting benthic surveys (qualitative and quantitative), Rapid Bioassessment Protocols (RBP), whole sediment / sediment porewater / elutriate toxicity testing, and sediment / tissue chemistry. GLEC staff have both depth and breadth of experience in: aquatic ecology, wetland ecolgy, fisheries ecology, invertebrate taxonomy and aquatic toxicology, and can effectively interpret either partial or complete sediment quality assessments. Further, GLEC has the equipment and facilities needed to perform intensive field and laboratory investigations.
GLEC has developed a significant number of technical strengths in sediment quality assessments, and offers many related services including:
GLEC has performed intensive field and laboratory assessments of sediment quality throughout the United States. We take pride in our innovative approaches for evaluating and recommending solutions to complex environmental problems. GLEC's diverse experience in the environmental arena allows us to be both timely in reporting, and cost effective in our services. For more information contact Dennis McCauley. |
