GLEC coordinated and conducted the TBT literature search and review for effects on both freshwater and saltwater aquatic life. An aquatic toxicity literature search and retrieval on the effects of TBT on both freshwater and saltwater aquatic life was performed. The literature search was based on data identified by the Bibliographic Retrieval Service (BRS), Dialogue, and AQUIRE data bases. In addition, current non-Confidential Business Information (CBI) and EPA documentation was also located and obtained. The articles were selected from scientific journals, reports, conference proceedings, monographs, books, and/or other acceptable reports. The literature review included a critical review of the key points of the references including: experimental design, test conditions, acceptability of test organisms and handling, chemical analysis support, and any other factors that help qualify the data according to the outline in EPA's guidelines. Using the current draft TBT criteria document, GLEC selected and utilized updated literature to include articles from scientific journals, reports, proceedings of scientific conferences, monographs, and books to revise the document. In addition, the freshwater and saltwater sections of this criteria document were integrated.
