Media/Cartography

Industry experts estimate that at least 75% of all data or information has a spatial component. Professional grade maps represent the most powerful communication tool available, far more readily processed by the human brain than more abstract modes such as text and spreadsheets. GLEC’s GIS Specialists know how to construct the most effective and maps for your organization. We employ the latest GIS applications, map data, and graphics programs to produce custom maps for any media. Printed maps are available at any size, from letter and fold-out to 3ft. x 4ft. laminated wall maps. Digital map outputs are available in all popular graphic formats for use in client publications or websites. Following are just a few examples of successful client map projects. Contact us for recommendations and pricing.

Wayfind Exhibits
Parks and Conservation organizations require quality signage to educate and stimulate visitors. In this river restoration project, GLEC GIS Specialists worked with a graphics/media firm to produce a series of outdoor wayfind exhibits at viewing locations.
Trail Maps
Recreation associations and properties need accurate maps with just the right amount of data for their enthusiasts and users. For this project, GLEC employed a GPS survey to plot a coast to coast Horse riding trail, measure distances between plotted camps, and add it all onto a custom road map for client publication.

Maps for Websites
GLEC offers both static maps and dynamic interactive mapping options for client websites. We offer web-ready graphics files, HTML “click maps”, and other web options.
This example is a click map for an environmental services client, easily published to their site.

Enhanced 3D Imagery
Using our advanced 3D mapping programs, we can produce dramatic images of real data for media and presentations. This example depicts a bathymetric view of a lake canyon, surrounding land, and simulated sky background.
Multi-Media
Map displays can include other media
such as photographs and illustrations.
For this conservation NGO client, we
created a tabloid sized custom map and
linked site photographs to areas of interest.
