Greg is a senior research scientist and co-manager of operation of operations for GLEC’s Columbus, Ohio laboratory. He has over 30 years’ experience with water quality issues, including development of national water quality criteria. Greg has led dozens of projects for the U.S.EPA’s Office of Water including standards related workshops and debate sessions and authoring ambient chemical water quality criteria documents for the protection of aquatic life. For EPA’s National Nutrient Criteria Program, Greg has helped develop periphyton bioassessment methodology for rivers and streams, nutrient benchmarks for wetlands of the Central Plains Region, and summarizing data for the National Nutrient Program Report. He has also managed a number of effluent biomonitoring programs, toxicity identification/ reduction evaluation studies, pollution prevention/waste minimization efforts, pilot-scale programs designed to simulate an industrial wastewater treatment plant system. Greg holds a Ph. D. in Zoology (Aquatic Toxicology) from Oklahoma State University.

NELAP ACCREDITED

GLEC operates one of only a few U.S. laboratories accredited for whole sediment toxicity testing. GLEC also maintains NELAP accreditation for chlorophyll and nutrient chemistry testing.
