Nick has over 10 years of experience as an environmental scientist, focusing primarily on aquatic ecology and toxicology. Through both academic and professional experiences, he has conducted assessments in lentic and lotic ecosystems including collecting, analyzing, and reporting water quality, fishery, macroinvertebrate, and physical habitat data. Nick holds a M.S. in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Marine Biology from Michigan State University. Nick works in GLEC’s Traverse City toxicology laboratory. In addition, he supports GLEC’s sediment coring operations and MDEQ’s Water Chemistry Monitoring Projects.
GLEC operates one of only a few U.S. laboratories accredited for whole sediment toxicity testing. GLEC also maintains NELAP accreditation for chlorophyll and nutrient chemistry testing.
