Daniel began working in the Spring of 2022 as a Botanist supporting GLEC’s contract work with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) to conduct State Wetland Condition Assessments, develop wetland databases and report on the condition of Michigan wetlands. He is an expert in plant identification in both field and laboratory settings and has extensive knowledge of plant community dynamics and structure.  Prior to joining GLEC, Daniel worked as a Biological Science Technician for the National Park Service in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Utah on habitat restoration, invasive species control, and plant community inventory and mapping projects.   He also worked as a botanical services contractor for the U.S. Forest Service, Central Lake Superior Land Conservancy, and Marquette County Conservation District.  Daniel has a B.S. in Biology (Ecology) from Northern Michigan University.
