Mailee has been a GLEC employee-owner since 1998. She oversees all testing activity and quality management systems at GLEC’s Traverse City toxicology laboratory as co-manager of operations. She has led hundreds of aquatic and sediment toxicity research and compliance projects for industrial, municipal, and government clients to assess the impact of effluents and chemicals on water quality and aquatic life. Mailee is expert at managing acute and chronic Toxicity Identification and Reduction Analyses (TI/RE), biomonitoring, and fish and invertebrates culturing processes for National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) related projects. She is experienced in conducting remote laboratory and field research focused on toxicological and microbiological aspects of environmental pollution. As a senior researcher, Mailee contributes to the interpretation of data and field studies and the preparation of reports in support of ecological risk assessments, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements and watershed management plans. Mailee holds a B.S. in biology from Alma College.
