Since 2014, Mike has helped orchestrate the sourcing and provision of some 1,500 sampling kits to 60+ NARS field crews in NARS survey seasons, a complex assignment which requires careful coordination with NARS program staff to identify crew supply and equipment needs and ensure that the products meet survey technical requirements. He also supports NARS batch laboratory operations by coordinating the tracking, receipt, distribution and proper handling of field samples analyzed for various NARS indicators. Mike is also an experienced licensed builder and has led storage and distribution facility expansion projects at GLEC’s Traverse City laboratory. Mike has a B.S. in Environmental Geology from Colorado Mesa University and an A.S. in Chemistry from Colorado Mountain College.

GLEC operates one of only a few U.S. laboratories accredited for whole sediment toxicity testing. GLEC also maintains NELAP accreditation for chlorophyll and nutrient chemistry testing.


GLEC's Columbus, OH laboratory is ADEQ accredited for Acute Toxicity and Chronic Toxicity testing.
