September 2022 - The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality awarded GLEC a task order to conduct the U.S. EPA 2023-2024 National Rivers and Streams Assessment at some 50 sites spread across all regions of the State. The EPA employs a random probabilistic method to select sites that contribute to a statistically valid estimate of water quality and ecological health of Arizona rivers and streams. In tandem with the NRSA work, GLEC will also conduct an "intensification" stream chemistry survey for 30 cold water and 20 warm water sites following ADEQ protocols. Two four-person field crews will conduct the work, with each crew including a GLEC field crew leader, fish taxonomist, and a ADEQ staff biologist.
